Development of Online Virtual Simulation Experiments of College Physics Based on Three.js
Three.js is based on WebGL and written in JavaScript, and is an engine for developing Web browser based 3D scene and animation. In order to make students carry out online virtual simulation experiments, and to create a laboratory teaching mode facilitating the combination of independent online and in-class learning,so that the in-class time of the experiments can be utilized efficiently,we developed a few online virtual experiments of college physics, such as the operation of spectroscope and Millikan's oil drop experiment,by using the libraries provided by Three.js.It can be expected that students can acquire more intuition and understanding on the experiment principles and operation details from these simulated experiments than simply reading/viewing relevant notes/videos,hence can explore and solve independently more problems encountered in the real experiments. In addition,Three.js is an open-source development platform,so our research can be widely promoted for the development of online simulation experiments.
