Comprehensive Teaching Experimental Design of Computer-generated Holography
Computer-generated holography(CGH)can achieve accurate reconstructions of the target optical field based on Fourier optics.Recently,it has obtained extensive attention from both academia and industry and becomes an important part of the physical optics and information optics. To provide students with a deep understanding of CGH,a comprehensive teaching experiment has been proposed. The experiment consists of three main stages,i.e.,target design using Visio,phase-only hologram(POH)generation using MATLAB,and optical reconstruction using a liquid crystal spatial light modulator(SLM).This experimental design combines optics, digital circuits, and computer software technology, which is ease-of-teaching and participatory. As a result,it promotes the students to further understand the basic concepts and experimental operations of CGH as well as opto-electronics technology.
