Development of an Experimental Platform for the Validation of Gas Dispersion Consequence Modelling
This paper proposes a teaching experimental platform that aims to validate the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)modeling results of gas dispersion consequences. The platform is comprised of a wind field simulation module, gas leakage module, data acquisition module, and corresponding CFD model, and can carry out gas leakage consequences verification experiments. In teaching experiments, students are required to conduct several leakage and dispersion experiments,as well as CFD simulations using the same parameters. Thus, the gas concentration data from the experiments and the numerical simulation results can be acquired and compared.Application results demonstrate that this platform can help students to intuitively understand the dispersion consequences of gas leakage, and provides a convenient way to understand the application and effectiveness of CFD methods of quantitative risk assessment.
