Design of New Type Continuous Class B/J Power Amplifier
In order to meet the requirements of wireless communication technology for high performance of power amplifier, the paper proposes a new method of designing broadband and high-efficiency Class B/J power amplifiers.Differring from the traditional continuous B/J mode, this design reshapes its time-domain voltage waveform expression by introducing variable factors, and then derives the expanded impedance design space. This expanded impedance design space increases the flexibility of impedance matching, expands the bandwidth, and theoretically obtains the same power and efficiency as traditional continuous class B/J power amplifiers.Based on this new impedance match technology,a broadband power amplifier is proposed and operating frequency is in 1.5-2.5 GHz.Test results show that in the frequency range of 1.5-2.5 GHz,the output power is greater than 40.6 dBm,the drain efficiency is 72.4%-79.1%,and the gain is 10.6-11.9 dB which verifies the effectiveness of the proposed method.
