Construction of Virtual Simulation Teaching Platform for Subsea Equipment Operation of Deep Water Semi-submersible Drilling Platform
There are significant differences between deepwater drilling and land or offshore drilling, which include the distinct drilling platforms and their supporting equipment. It poses numerous challenges for field internship and practical training among students majoring in marine oil and gas engineering. In order to deepen students'understanding of deepwater oil and gas drilling engineering equipment,we adopt virtual simulation technology to build a highly realistic and combat-ready virtual simulation teaching platform for underwater equipment operations on deepwater semi-submersible drilling platforms. This platform enables the simulation of various operations, including the transportation, storage, and deployment of risers, the connection of risers with the upper heave compensation device and the bottom riser assembly,as well as the structure and installation of underwater blowout preventers.By utilizing this platform, students can systematically grasp the manipulation methods and operational procedures of underwater equipment in a virtual environment without the need to visit deepwater platforms, thereby enhancing their practical capabilities in deepwater drilling engineering.
