Experiment Design and Teaching Method on Electromagnetic Non-destructive Testing
Electromagnetic induction is one of the important non-destructive testing methods,is widely applied in construction engineering for the inspection of reinforced concrete. In order to improve the teaching quality and optimize the teaching system of non-destructive testing related courses,a new teaching method, which combines an in-house laboratory testing and numerical simulation study,is proposed.A special experimental setup is designed and established for in-house non-destructive testing calibration of reinforcement bars;and numerical simulation with a commercial COMSOL software based on finite element method is conducted for mechanical and method study.By combining physical experiments with numerical simulations, the abstract electromagnetic theory and testing mechanism are easily understood, and the onsite testing is included in the course.
