Establishment of a Method for the Determination of Artemisinin in Artemisia annua by High Performance Liquid Chromatography-triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometry
A method for the determination of artemisinin in Artemisia annua was established by high performance liquid chromatography(HPLC)-triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, and the method of linearity and range, precision, recovery and laboratory comparison were verified. The results showed that artemisinin had good linearity in the range of 3~300 ng/mL(R2=0.9994),and the limits of detection and quantitation were 0.25 μg/g and 0.75 μg/g,respectively.The precision of the method is good, and the RSD of repeatability is in the range of 2.0%~4.8%.The average recoveries ranged from 93.8%~109.8%.The relative standard deviation of artemisinin content in three laboratories was between 0.5%~3.3%.The experimental project is moderate in difficulty and innovative to a certain extent. It not only ensures the success rate of the experiment, but also enhances the enthusiasm of the students for experiment, and cultivates the students'spirit of exploration and scientific research accomplishment. It is suitable for the open experimental teaching of the experimental course of Traditional Chinese medicine component analysis for graduate students.
