Development of New Double-temperature Ebulliometer and Its Application in Physical Chemistry Experiment Teaching
The"binary liquid-gas phase diagram drawing"is an important basic experiment of physical chemistry. However, there are problems such as fractionation effect, inability to directly measure gas phase temperature, and inability to monitor phase equilibrium process when a classic single temperature ebulliometer is used, which leads to the distortion of the gas-liquid phase diagram.Focusing on the above problems, the method of temperature compensation correction is proposed in this paper.A thermal compensated double temperature ebulliometer is developed. And it is applied to the experimental teaching practice of"binary liquid-gas phase diagram drawing".The practice results show that the new two-temperature ebulliometer can effectively solve fractionation effect. The operation is simple. The obtained data are accurate. And the error between the drawn phase diagram and the theoretical value is small. The successful design and application of the double-temperature ebulliometer is conducive to improve students'understanding of the experimental principle of binary liquid-gas phase diagram. The experiment inspires students to think diligently, uses the knowledge to solve complex problems, cultivates them scientific literacy in solving problem, and helps the cultivation of top-notch talents.
