Research Progress on Screening Tools for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD),as the third leading cause of death globally, poses a significant threat to public health. Its early symptoms are not obvious, often leading to delayed diagnosis and treatment. Therefore, early identification is crucial for improving the patients'prognosis. This article summarizes existing COPD screening tools, including COPD Diagnostic Questionnaires(CDQ),modified CDQ,COPD Population Screener Questionnaire(COPD-PS),COPD Assessment Test(CAT)Scale,Lung Function Questionnaire(LFQ),modified LFQ,COPD Screening Questionnaire(COPD-SQ),COPD Risk Seven Item Rating Scale,COPD Assessment in Primary Care to Identify Undiagnosed Respiratory Disease and Exacerbation Risk Questionnaire(CAPTURE),Salzburg COPD-Screening Questionnaire(SCSQ)and COPD-MH Questionnaire, and analyzes their application value, advantages, and limitations in early identification of COPD.It proposes that future research and practice should focus on further optimizing various COPD screening tools to improve their screening efficiency and promote early diagnosis and effective management of COPD.
