Research Progress of Frailty Assessment Tools for Lung Cancer Patients
Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality.Recent studies have shown that the incidence of frailty in elderly patients with lung cancer is as high as 42%-86%,and frailty will accelerate the disease progression of lung cancer patients, affect their tolerance to radiotherapy and chemotherapy, increase the incidence of postoperative complications, and shorten the survival time of patients. Therefore, early identification and intervention of frailty in lung cancer patients is of great significance to improve the prognosis and quality of life of lung cancer patients. This article reviews a number of frailty assessment tools for lung cancer patients, including the Frailty Phenotype(FP)Scale,G-8 Geriatric Screening Tool,Clinical Frailty Scale(CFS),Simple Physical Performance Status(SPPB)Scale, modified Frailty Index(mFI),FRAIL Scale,Edmonton Frailty Scale(EFS),and Frailty Index Based on Laboratory Tests(FI-LAB),and points out their advantages and disadvantages,in order to provide a reference for clinicians to early identify the frailty status of lung cancer patients.
