Despite the efforts of academia in redefining translation, the results are yet to be im-proved.Previous definitions hinge on such concepts as language, sign, translator, converting, meaning, etc.,whose definitions, however, remain debatable.Translation is,first and foremost,a materialistic phenomenon, making all concepts on which it is built materialistic. As matter, meaning is in constant and spontaneous motion, thus canceling the subjectivity of sign-converting by translators. The difference between sign systems is the barrier to human communication;language,on the other hand,is what signs, which are materialistic by nature, have in common.Marxist philosophy and natural sciences to-gether revealed the way matter exists, viz.EVE,translation thus can be defined as"the intersemiotic motion of matter".This definition overcomes logocentrism in previous definitions and answers such basic questions as translatability and criterion in translation studies.
