Research on the Effect of Digital Economy on Labor Market Integration:An Empirical Analysis Based on Provincial Panel Data
Digital economy has become an important engine for promoting high-quality economic development, which al-so provides new power and new opportunities for the labor market. This paper adopts the spatial panel Durbin model to empirically study the relationship between digital economy and labor market integration based on the Chinese provincial panel data from 2011 to 2021.The results show that, firstly, the development of digital economy has a significant positive effect on the integration of labor market.Secondly, digital economy has a spatial spillover effect, which can effectively promote the process of labor market integration in neighboring regions.Fourthly, digital economy indirectly affects labor market integration mainly by enhancing labor mobility and bargaining power.Thirdly, differences in regional geographic location and human capital level affect the driving role of digital economy. There is obvious regional heterogeneity in the role of the digital economy in labor market integration. The central and western regions and regions with low human cap-ital levels are greatly affected by digital economy. Therefore,it is necessary to strengthen the foundation of labor mobility, stimulate the vitality of labor mobility, expand the space for labor mobility, remedy the digital divide, stimulate the divi-dends of the digital economy, and then build a unified national market.
