Has Firm Digitization Promoted Dual Innovation?——An Analysis based on the Knowledge Diversity Perspective
Digital technology has become a new type of production factor,and the relationship between its application and innovation is of great theoretical value and practical significance.We explores the differential effects of firm digitization on incremental and radical innovations,using China A-share listed firms as a research sample from 2007 to 2021.We find that firm digitization promotes incremental innovation by enhancing knowledge diversity within industry rather than radical innovation;both employees education and specialization enhance the effect of digitization on incremental innova-tion,but do not moderate the relationship between digitization and radical innovation;and firm digitization in competitive industries promote incremental innovation but do not affect radical innovation,especially in highly profitable firm;howev-er,firm digitization in regulated industries inhibits radical innovation,but does not affect incremental innovation.
