The Impact of the Interaction between Land Transfer and Labor Force Transfer on the Income Gap between Urban and Rural Areas
The flow of factors provides beneficial reform exploration for solving the problem of urban-rural integration and development, and establishing a balanced growth and virtuous cycle of urban-rural relations.Based on macro panel data from 31 provinces from 2005 to 2020,this study empirically analyzes the interactive relationship between land transfer and labor transfer under the comprehensive supporting reform of the land system through fixed effects, intermediary effects, and simultaneous equation models,as well as the impact and mechanism on the urban-rural income gap.The re-sult shows:There is a positive interactive relationship between land transfer and labor force transfer. The interaction be-tween land transfer and labor transfer helps to narrow the urban-rural income gap.For every 1%increase in the interac-tion between land transfer and labor transfer, the urban-rural income gap will be reduced by 0.0613.After endogeneity and robustness testing, the conclusion still holds. The interaction between land transfer and labor force transfer indirectly reduces the income gap between urban and rural areas by promoting urbanization and improving the level of industrial up-grading.In addition, the interaction between land transfer and labor force transfer has heterogeneous effects on the urban-rural income gap,and has a significant negative impact on the wage income gap.According to the conclusions of the study, suggestions are put forward to promote the linkage reform of land and registered residence system, expand the openness of rights of land elements, strengthen the mobility of urban and rural land and labor elements, improve land cir-culation and labor market, and guide rural migrant labor to participate in land circulation.
