Urban Business Environment,Digital Transformation and Firm Innovation Output
Based on the perspective of digital economy,this paper takes Chinese listed high-tech enterprises as sample objects,constructs the evaluation index of urban business environment,and empirically researches the impact of urban business environment on enterprise innovation and its mechanism.It is found that:China's urban business environment shows a stage change characteristic of first decline(2013-2015)and then rise(2016-2021),and the optimization of business environment has a facilitating effect on the innovation of high-tech enterprises.The effect of urban business en-vironment optimization on enterprise innovation presents heterogeneity of enterprises,industries and locations,and has a greater impact on non-state-owned enterprises,manufacturing enterprises and enterprises in the eastern region.Digital transformation is the main mechanism by which urban business environment affects enterprise innovation.Improvements in the business environment in terms of financial services,market environment,human resources and government public services enhance enterprise innovation by accelerating digital transformation.The above findings have important policy implications for the optimization of the urban business environment with the goal of increasing enterprise innovation in the new context of the current widespread application of digital technology.
