Anti-alcoholism effect of modified sobering decoction on drunken mice
Objective To study the anti-alcoholism effect of modified sobering decoction(MSD)on drunken mice. Methods According to the established drunken model of mice, the best technique of MSD was determined by measuring the drunkenness incubation period and sobering time of mice; The anti-alcoholism effect of MSD was observed by measuring the concentration of blood ethanol and the activity of liver ethanol metabolic enzyme in mice. Results Modified sobering decoction not only increased the tolerance time and decreased the drunken time of mice, but also significantly induced the ethanol concentration in the blood and increased the activities of ADH,ALDH and GSH-PX in liver. Conclusion It indicates that modified sobering decoction has sobering effect on drunken mice, the mechanism may be related to increasing the activity of ethanol metabolic enzymes.
