Applying biolabel-led research pattern to analyze the mechanism of action and material basis of eucommiae folium in the treatment of blood diseases based on"drug →disease"reverse analysis strategy
Objective Biolabel-led research pattern was used to analyze the therapeutic potential, mechanism of action, and material basis of eucommiae folium(EF)in the treatment of blood diseases by using biolabel-led research pattern based on"drug → disease"reverse analysis strategy. Methods Proteomics and metabonomics were applied to explore the biolabels responsible for the effect of EF on serum samples.Subsequently, bioinformatics was used to analyze its therapeutic potential, mechanism of action, and material basis. Results Omics analysis showed that six proteins and six metabolites were differentially expressed, which were involved in three significantly dysregulated pathways and could be used as potential biolabels.Bioinformatics analysis showed that the therapeutic potential of EF may be involved in leukocyte disorders, thrombocytopathy, leukemia, and anemia.Sixty-five compounds from EF may be the material basis for the treatment of blood diseases. Conclusion Biolabel-led research pattern reveals the therapeutic potential, mechanism of action, and material basis of EF in the treatment of blood diseases. This can provide an important reference for the development of EF into health food and even drug.
