Effect of Bifidobacterium bifidum tetrads tablets assisted with azithromycin on intestinal flora and inflammatory factors in children with severe mycoplasmal pneumonia
Objective:To investigate the effect of Bifidobacterium bifidum tetrads tablets assisted with azithromycin on intestinal flora and inflammatory factors in children with severe mycoplasmal pneumonia(SMPP).Methods|:According to different treatment plans,86 children with SMPP admitted to our hospital from Jan 2021 to Jan 2023 were divided into 2 groups, with 43 cases in each group. The control group was treated with azithromycin, and the observation group was treated with Bifidobacterium bifidum tetrads tablets assisted with azithromycin. The clinical efficacy, gastrointestinal reaction, clinical symptom improvement time, blood routine indexes, number of intestinal flora, and serum cytokine[C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitoninogen(PCT),soluble vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1(sFlt-l),and placental growth factor(PLGF)]levels were compared between the two groups. Results:After treatment, there was no statistically significant differences in the total effective rate of treatment, and in the time of shortness of breath, lung rales, fever and disappearance of cough between the two groups(P>0.05).The number of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the number of Enterobacteriaceae and Enterococci was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).The leukocyte count, lymphocyte percentage, neutrophil percentage, serum CRP,PCT,sFlt-l,and PLGF levels in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).The incidence of intestinal reactions in the observation group was lower than that in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Bifidobacterium bifidum tetrads tablets assisted with azithromycin in the treatment of SMPP can promote the recovery of intestinal function and reduce inflammation and gastrointestinal reactions, which is conducive to the recovery of the disease.
