Objective To explore the diagnostic value of MR diffusion-weighted imaging(MR-DWI)combined with CT in preoperative staging and positive lymph nodes of rectal cancer. Methods The study subjects were 80 patients with rectal cancer who underwent surgery in our hospital from January 2019 to November 2023.Routine preoperative imaging examination was performed, and MR-DWI and CT examination were used successively. The diagnostic criteria were postoperative pathological examination results. The application value of combined diagnosis in preoperative staging and positive lymph nodes was analyzed. Results The accuracy of MR-DWI combined with CT in preoperative staging was significantly higher than that of a single examination, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The diagnostic sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy of MR-DWI combined with CT in lymph nodes were significantly higher than those of a single examination, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion MR-DWI combined with CT has a high application value in the preoperative staging and positive lymph node diagnosis of rectal cancer, which can make up for the shortcomings of a single examination, improve the diagnostic accuracy of preoperative staging and positive lymph nodes, provide a reliable basis for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, and is worthy of clinical application.
