Clinical value of quantitative evaluation of pancreatic fat content in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease based on MRI IDEAL-IQ technology
Objective To analyze the clinical value of quantitative evaluation of pancreatic fat content in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease based on magnetic resonance imaging asymmetric echo three-point water lipid separation quantification map(MRI IDEAL-IQ).Methods The clinical data of 115 patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease who underwent upper abdominal high-field magnetic resonance examination in Anyang Second People's Hospital and the Affiliated Hospital of North China University of Science and Technology from October 2021 to October 2022 were retrospectively analyzed. As a study group, the clinical data of 110 patients who underwent physical examination during the same period were also retrospectively analyzed.High-field magnetic resonance was used to scan all studies.Scanning sequences included IDEAL-IQ,T2WI fast spin echo,diffusion-weighted imaging(DWI)scanning, etc.Images were reconstructed to obtain fat fraction and fat equality images.Fat fraction values in different parts of the pancreas were compared between the two groups, and the fat area of intervertebral space in L2/3 intervertebral space was compared between the two groups, including subcutaneous fat area, visceral fat area, and the ratio of visceral fat area to total fat area. Results The fat content of liver, pancreatic head, body and tail of the study group was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).The area of visceral fat in the L2/3 intervertebral space and the ratio of visceral fat area to total fat area in the study group were higher than those in the control group, and the subcutaneous fat area was lower than that in the control group, with statistical significance(all P<0.05).Conclusion The quantitative application of MRI IDEAL-IQ technology in the evaluation of pancreatic fat content in non-alcoholic fatty liver patients has high clinical value. The average score of the whole pancreas in non-alcoholic fatty liver patients is higher than that of the healthy population, and the distribution of pancreatic fat infiltration in non-alcoholic fatty liver patients is relatively uniform, while the distribution of pancreatic fat in the healthy population is uneven, with higher fat content in the uncinate process and head and neck of the pancreas.
