Objective To analyze the value of ultrasound localization monitoring in patients with ureteral stones undergoing extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy treatment. Methods One hundred and seventy-two patients with ureteral stones admitted to the hospital from June 2021 to June 2023 were selected as the study subjects and randomly divided into two groups. The control group(86 cases)received pneumatic ballistic lithotripsy treatment, while the observation group(86 cases)received lithotripsy treatment under ultrasound localization. The clinical efficacy, incidence of complications, clinical indicators, and urinary function between the two groups were compared. Results The clinical efficacy of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, and the incidence of complications, localization time, and degree of pain were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Comparison of urinary function between two groups showed that the IPSS score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, and the Qmas was higher than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion In treating ureteral stones with extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, adopting ultrasound localization monitoring can improve the success rate of localization, reduce the degree of body pain, and avoid complications such as hematuria during lithotripsy. It is worth learning.
