Objective To compare the diagnostic efficacy of echocardiography and conventional electrocardio-gram for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. Methods A total of 114 patients with suspected hypertrophic cardiomyopathy in Anyang District Hospital of Puyang City from March 2022 to December 2023 were selected. They were examined by echocardiography and conventional electrocardiogram, and the"gold standard"was MRI combined with clinical diag nosis. The diagnostic efficacy of echocardiography and conventional electrocardiogram for hypertrophic-cardiomyopathy was compared. Results Among 114 patients with suspected hypertrophic cardiomyopathy,80 cases were positive, and were diagnosed as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. The sensitivity, accuracy, and negative predictive value of echocardiog-raphy in the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were higher than those of routine electrocardiogram(P<0.05).The maximum left ventricular myocardial thickness and left atrial systolic diameter in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy were greater than those in patients without hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(P<0.05).Conclusion Ehocardiography shows higher sensitivity, accuracy, and negative predictive value in the diagnosis of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and has better diagnostic efficacy than conventional electrocardiogram. Therefore,in clinical practice, echocardiography may be a more effective diagnostic tool, especially for patients suspected of having hypertrophic cardi-omyopathy.
