Complement activation and IgA nephropathy:mechanism analysis and potential treatment
IgA nephropathy is the most common primary glomerulonephritis in the world.Dysregulation and overactivation of complement system play a vital role in the development and progression of the disease.This review elaborates the abnormalities of com-plement system in IgA nephropathy on three aspects including the role of complement system abnormalities,the mechanisms of complement system activation and regulation,and targeted complement therapies.It hopes that the research findings can bring progress and breakthroughs to its pathogenesis and clinical diagnosis and treatment.
