The effects of internet-based self-management mode on blood glucose control and self-management level in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Objective To explore the effects of Internet-based self-management mode on blood glucose control and self-management level in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods A total of 138 patients with T2DM in our hospital between June 2021 and December 2022 were enrolled.According to random number table method, they were divided into an experimental group and a control group,69 in each group. The control group was given routine health management. The experimental group was given Internet-based self-management mode. The blood glucose, blood pressure and weight control, metabolism indexes,self-management level estimated by Summary of Diabetes Self-care Activities(SDSCA)and quality of life estimated by Diabetes Specific Quality of Life Scale(DSQL)were compared before and after intervention between the two groups. Results After intervention, glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),fasting blood glucose(FPG),2h postprandial blood glucose(2hPG),diastolic blood pressure, systolic blood pressure and body mass index in both groups were decreased, and the experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),total cholesterol(TC)and triglyceride(TG)in both groups were decreased, and the experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, scores of foot care, blood glucose monitoring, exercise and diet in both groups were increased, and the experimental group was higher than the control group(P<0.05).After intervention, scores of treatment, social relationship, psychological and physiological function in both groups were decreased, and the experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusions Internet-based self-management mode is beneficial to control blood glucose, blood pressure and weight. It can also improve metabolism indexes,self-management level and quality of life in T2DM patients.
