Research on the application value of remote guidance of the fitting orthokeratology lens in the prevention and control of juvenile myopia
Objective To compare the clinical efficacy and safety of remote guidance for the fitting orthokeratology lens with the traditional"face-to-face"fitting method, and to evaluate the application value of remote guidance for the fitting orthokeratology lens in the prevention and control of juvenile myopia. Methods This was a prospective controlled study.Sixty-five children(122 eyes)with myopia who were remotely guided by the same physician to fit orthokeratology lenses were included in an experimental group, and 71 children(139 eyes)withmyopiawhowere fitted"face-to-face"during the sameperiodwere includedinacontrol group.Follow-up was performed after 1 day,1 week,1 month and 3 months of wearing the lenses. The clinical efficacy including the distance visual acuity of wearing lenses, the diopter of wearing lenses, the degree of lens fitting, the uncorrected distance visual acuity and the eccentricity distance in treatment area and safety(corneal staining grading)were compared between the two fitting methods. Results There was no significant difference in the distance visual acuity of wearing lenses, the diopter of wearing lenses and the degree of lens fitting between the two groups(P>0.05).There was also no significant difference in the uncorrected distance visual acuity, the ec-centricity distance in treatment area and the corneal staining grading after 1 day,1 week,1 month and 3 months of wearing lenses between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusions The clinical efficacy and safety of the remote guidance for the fitting of orthokeratology lens are good.It has a high application value in the prevention and control of juvenile myopia.
