Analysis of the correlation between cognitive function and lesion degree in patients with ischemic stroke combined with leukoaraiosis
Objective To analyze the correlation between cognitive function and lesion degree in patients with ischemic stroke complicated with leukoaraiosis. Methods Ninety-eight patients with ischemic stroke admitted to our hospital from March 2020 to January 2022 were selected.According to whether patients were complicated with leukoaraiosis, the patients were divided into an ex-perimental group and a control group.Montreal cognitive assessment(MoCA)and Minni-mental state examination(MMSE)scores were compared between the two groups. The lesions of the periventricular hyperrintensities(PVH)and the deep white matter hyperin-tensities(DWMH)were compared. The gender, age, smoking, drinking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease between PVH and DWMH lesion positive group and negative group were also compared. The correlation between cognitive function and lesion degree was analyzed. Results The scores of MoCA and MMSE in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There were 42 PVH positive cases,9 PVH negative cases,43 DWMH positive cases and 8 DWMH negative cases in the experimental group. There was no statistical significance in general conditions such as gender, age, smoking, drinking, hypertension, hyperlipidemia and coronary heart disease between the two groups(P>0.05).MoCA and MMSE in the PVH and DWMH positive group were lower than those in the PVH and DWMH negative group(P<0.05).The cognitive function of MoCA and MMSE was negatively correlated with PVH and DWMH(P<0.05).Conclusions The cognitive function of patients with ischemic stroke complicated with leukoaraiosis is negatively correlated with the degree of lesion. The more severe the lesion degree of patients with ischemic stroke complicated with leukoaraiosis is,the more serious the cognitive dysfunction is.
