The relationship between expression of Tie-2 and clinicopathological features in oral squamous cell carcinoma
Objective To explore the association between tyrosine kinase receptor-2(Tie-2)and clinicopathology such as degree of differentiation, jaw invasion, and lymph node metastasis in oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC).Methods The specimens of 110 patients with OSCC were used as an experimental group and the oral mucosa of 30 normal patients as a control group.Immunohistochemistry(IHC)was used to detect the expression of Tie-2 in OSCC tissues and normal oral tissues. The difference of ex-pression of Tie-2 in different clinicopathological features of patients with OSCC was explored. Results The positive rate of Tie-2 expression in the OSCC group was significantly higher than that in control group.Tie-2 was positively expressed in the cytoplasm of OSCC vascular endothelial cells and cancer cells, and the expression in OSCC cells of adjacent tumor tissues was higher. The expression rate of Tie-2 in poorly differentiated OSCC was significantly higher than that in moderately differentiated and highly differentiated OSCC.The expression rate of Tie-2 in OSCC with lymph node metastasis was significantly higher than that in OSCC without lymph node metastasis. The expression rate of Tie-2 in OSCC with jaw invasion was significantly higher than that in OSCC without jaw invasion. All differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions Tie-2 is highly expressed in OSCC.Tie-2 is differentially expressed in different OSCC pathological grades, lymph node metastasis and jaw invasion.
