Application research of family involvement management model in patients'self-management for stable COPD
Objective To evaluate the role of self-management and its effect on the family disease burden in patients with stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)by using a family participatory model guided by family care. Methods Patients with stable COPD admitted to the department of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine in our hospital from June 1,2021 to July 1,2022 were selected and grouped by using the random number table method. The control group was given routine nursing measures. The experimental group adopted the family care-oriented family participatory care management mode. The disease burden scale scores, disease knowledge mastery score and aspiration technique operation score in the two groups were measured. Results In both groups, the use of inhaler manipulation and COPD disease knowledge scores of patients after 2 weeks,2 and 6 months of discharge were better than those on the day of admission. The total scores and scores of all dimensions of the Family Burden of Disease Scale were lower than those on the day of admission. The scores of the experimental group were better than the control group at different time points. All differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions The family participatory management model facilitates the improvement of self-management of patients with stable COPD and improve the ability of patients'families to cope with the burden of disease.
