The integration characteristics of cluster well sites reducing the operation cost of oilfield
Cluster wells have obvious advantages in minimizing land occupation and eco-environmental impact. However, such disadvantages of the cluster wells as partial abrasion, collision, high operation and maintenance cost in later period as well as slow production have negatively influenced the popularization. Therefore, combining multiple requirements including platform design, intelligent efficiency, new energy conservation, drilling and completion methods and related operating costs, whether cluster wells can reduce operating cost and improve operating efficiency is fully demonstrated.By comparing the land expense and surface construction cost in pre-drilling,drilling costs and later operation and maintenance costs of three design schemes of cluster well site, namely single-well site, cluster well site with one drill rig and two wells, and cluster well site with one drill rig and five wells,it is found that the pre-drilling cost of cluster well site with 5 wells is reduce by over six million Yuan compared to single-well site development, and the highest cumulative production in the same cycle is produced in cluster well site with 2 wells. Moreover, the cluster well site with 5 wells is higher than that with 2 wells in terms of operation efficiency.Because of high integration of cluster well sites and intensive management mode, the cost can be further reduced. To sum up,cluster well site does not only overcome the challenges in land requisition, but also reduce the risk of environmental contamination, thus save about 3%of the overall investment, which realizes high-benefit and high-quality development of oil and gas fields.
