On the"Internal Focus"Narrative of Yu Kexun's A Tale of Fish House
The shift of narrative perspective is a major highlight of Yu Kexun's new work A Tale of Fish House. The"zero focus"narrative of XiangSheng's great grandfather and great-grandfather's father in the novel,in contrast to the"internal focus"narrative perspective of later generations of protagonists, can be concluded that the latter has the characteristics of self discovery and self per-ception of the characters. The transformation and application of"internal focus"and"zero focus"not just helps to reflect the sense of time in the novel, but also continues the narrative characteristics of Yu Kexun's combination of"human"and"history".Mean-while,according to the transformation of the narrative perspective of the character Baishan in different periods,it can be seen that the use of"inner focus"narrative has a great impact on the shaping of the character image, and it can also be used to peek at the histori-cal reflection contained in Yu Kexun's novels beyond narrative.
