Rebirth Fragrance is a classical Chinese novel published by Lv Yunqing in 1929,which is the final work of her novel writing career.Although this novel has always been regarded as a popular love story,it actually contains the author's multi-dimension-al investigation of the rise and fall of the traditional scholar family.The novel integrates the self-narrative writing of her life experi-ence,practices the classical style construction consistent with her novel criticism view,focusing on"environment",and contains her value concepts,which not only abide by and recognize the tradition,but also reflect on the traditional scholar culture and embrace the modern consciousness of real society.The works such as Rebirth Fragrance are different from the value orientation of new literature,which are more worthy of us to explore and re-examine the diversity of female novels in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China and even the whole modern literature with an objective and inclusive standpoint.
