Application of Ear Acupuncture Therapy Combined with Acupoint Application in Ischemic Stroke with Hemiplegia
Objective To explore the application value of ear acupuncture therapy combined with acupoint application in ische-mic stroke patients with hemiplegia.Methods A prospective randomized controlled study was conducted in this study.62 patients with hemiplegia due to ischemic stroke in Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Nanyang Medical College from Janu-ary 2019 to December 2021 were enrolled in the study.Random number table method was used to divide the patients into two groups,each with 31 cases.Both groups were given routine nursing intervention,the control group was given acupoint application intervention,and the observation group was given ear acupuncture therapy combined with acupoint application intervention,both of which lasted for 2 months.The traditional Chinese medicine syndrome scores of the two groups were compared before and 2 months after the intervention.The motor function(assessed by Fugl Meyer Motor Function Assessment Scale[FMAS],Tinetti Gait Assessment Scale[TGA],Berg Balance Scale[BBS],and Extended Barthel Index)were compared between the two groups before and after the intervention for 2 months.Results After 2 months of intervention,the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score of the two groups was lower than that before intervention,and the traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score of the obser-vation group was lower than that of the control group(P＜0.05).The scores of all dimensions of FMAS in the two groups were higher than before the intervention(P＜0.05),and the scores in the observation group were higher(P＜0.05).The TGA and BBS scores of the two groups were higher than those before intervention(P＜0.05),and the scores of the observation group were higher(P＜0.05).The extended Barthel index of the two groups was higher than that before intervention(P＜0.05),and the observation group was higher(P＜0.05).Conclusion Ear acupuncture therapy combined with acupoint application can reduce traditional Chinese medicine syndrome score of ischemic stroke patients with hemiplegia,improve their motor function and bal-ance function,improve their walking quality,and have positive significance for the recovery of their activities of daily living.
