Curative Effect of Shufei Paste for Acupoint Application and Its Influences on Respiratory Function in Patients with Acute Exacerbation of Copd in Winter
Objective To explore the curative effect of Shufei Paste for acupoint application and its influences on respiratory function in patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD)in winter.Methods A total of 76 patients with AECOPD onset in winter who were admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan University of Chinese Medicine were enrolled between November 2020 and February 2023.According to the admission order from front to back,they were divid-ed into control group and experimental group,38 cases in each group.The control group was given routine western treatment ac-cording to disease severity,while experimental group was additionally given Shufei Paste for acupoint application.The clinical curative effect,scores of clinical symptoms,respiratory function indexes[partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2),oxygen saturation(SaO2)]and safety in the two groups were compared.Results After treatment,the response rate of treatment in experimental group was higher than that in control group(P＜0.05).Scores of cough,expectora-tion and shortness of breath,and PaCO2 were decreased in both groups(P＜0.05),which were lower in experimental group(P＜0.05),while PaO2 and SaO2 were increased(P＜0.05),which were higher in experimental group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between experimental group and control group(P＞0.05).Conclusion Curative effect of Shufei Paste for acupoint application is good in AECOPD patients,which can effectively improve respiratory function,with good safety.
