Stroke is also known as apoplexy,of which ischemic stroke accounts for about 80%of all stroke patients.Ischemic stroke occurs when the arteries supplying oxygen-rich blood to the brain are blocked and oxygen does not reach the brain tissue. Therefore, after the occurrence of ischemic stroke,it has become a hot research topic to reduce the ischemic damage and promote the angiogenesis of the ischemic area to restore the blood supply to the brain in time. This paper reviewed the regulatory factors associated with ischemic stroke angiogenesis,as well as the types and mechanisms of action of pro-angiogenic Chinese medicine, and provided a theoretical basis for the treatment of ischemic stroke by the angiogenesis route.
