Effect of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction(知柏地黄汤)Combined with Metronidazole in Treatment of Senile Vaginitis
Objective To explore the effect of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction(知柏地黄汤)combined with metronidazole on the treatment of senile vaginitis.Methods Eighty-eight elderly patients with vaginitis who visited the hospital from March to Novem-ber 2022 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,with 44 patients in each group.The control group was treated with metronidazole.The observation group was treated with Zhibai Dihuang Decoction combined with metronidazole.The scores of traditional Chinese medicine symptoms such as vulvar itching,vulvar burning and abnormal secretion were compared before and after treatment,as well as the levels of vaginal pH and hormones such as luteinizing hormone(LH)and follicle stimulating hormone(FSH)between the two groups.In addition,the total effective rate of the two groups was compared.Results After treatment,the traditional Chinese medicine symptom score and total score in the observation group were lower than those in the control group,and the vaginal pH,the levels of LH and FSH were lower than those in the control group with statistical significance(P＜0.05).The total effective rate of the observation group was 97.73％,higher than 81.82％of the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P＜0.05).Conclusion The combination of Zhibai Dihuang Decoction and metronidazole can effectively improve the symptoms and enhance the therapeutic effects in the treatment of senile vaginitis.
