Irritable bowel syndrome(IBS)is a common functional gastrointestinal disease,which brings many troubles to pa-tients because of its long course,repeated attacks and difficult to cure.The pathogenesis of irritable bowel syndrome is still un-clear.It is believed that persistent low-grade inflammation is closely related to the occurrence of irritable bowel syndrome,and the level of inflammatory factors affects the occurrence of inflammatory response.The long-term efficacy of western medicine in the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome is poor and easy to relapse.Many studies have shown that traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)can regulate inflammatory factors,reduce inflammatory response,reduce visceral sensitivity,and improve IBS symptoms,with less side effects,high efficacy,and low recurrence rate.This article aims to explore the correlation between inflammatory fac-tors and the occurrence of IBS and the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of IBS by regulating in-flammatory factors.
