Objective To sort out the clinical literature on traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)treatment of glaucoma(Glau-coma)in the past 20 years,and to understand the research hotspots and development trends in this field,so as to provide ideas for the comprehensive treatment and future research direction of this disease.Methods The relevant literature on TCM treatment of glaucoma published in CNKI,VIP,Wanfang Medical Network,and databases from January 1,2003 to December 31,2022 was retrieved.Using bibliometric research methods,Noteexpress was used to draw the annual publication volume statistics chart,and VOSviewer and CiteSpace were used to construct the visualization maps of literature authors,institutions and keywords and analyze them.Result A total of 128 articles were included in this study,and the overall publication volume showed an upward trend;a research team represented by Peng Qinghua,XiaoJiaxiang and others has been formed;the co-occurrence of keywords showed that the high-frequency keywords were glaucoma,primary open-angle glaucoma,optic nerve atrophy,optic nerve pro-tection,etc.;keyword clustering analysis obtained 10 clusters;keyword timeline chart found that acupuncture and Chinese herb-al medicine have always been the main intervention methods for TCM treatment in this field in the past 20 years.Conclusion In the past 20 years,the research heat of TCM treatment of glaucoma in China has gradually increased,and the treatment ideas and intervention methods of TCM for glaucoma have gradually developed towards the direction of integrated treatment of Chinese and Western medicine,internal and external treatment,combined use of acupuncture and herbal medicine,and emphasis on nursing care.
