The proportion of unexplained infertility can reach 10％to 30％of infertility,and unexplained infertility caused by immune factors is increasingly receiving clinical attention.The term immunity',as the name suggests,means to be free from diseases,which also means to prevent diseases before they occur.During the period of the Huangdi Neijing in traditional Chinese medicine,there was a budding idea of disease prevention,but traditional Chinese medicine did not form a systematic theory for the prevention and treatment of immune diseases.There is no record of immunological infertility in traditional Chinese medicine.According to its clinical manifestations,it belongs to the category of"infertility"in traditional Chinese medicine.Based on the theory of traditional Chinese medicine and the pathogenesis of immunologic infertility,professor Li Guangwen put forward that this disease is based on kidney deficiency,which is internal cause.Sexual activity,infection with toxins,etc,are external causes.The combination of internal and external factors causes imbalance of Qi and blood,as well as disorder of Yin and Yang,leading to unability to conceive.Professor Li Guangwen developed Zhongzi Zhuanyin Dan(种子转阴丹)for immunologic infertility,which has dual effects of tonifying qi and blood,warming the kidney and aiding Yang,and detoxifying and anti-inflammatory effects,had achieved good clinical efficacy.However,further clinical and fundamental research is needed to elucidate the mech-anism of the entire compound,single Chinese herbal medicine,and formula rules of Zhongzi Zhuanyin Dan(种子转阴丹)for treatment of immunologic infertility.
