Portal hypertension(PHT)is a change in the vascular and circulatory system that occurs during the development of liver cirrhosis.At present,the commonly used treatments are mainly internal medicine and surgery,but the clinical efficacy va-ries from person to person and may not be effective for all patients.It is not suitable for patients with serious complications such as refractory ascites.Long term use can also lower heart rate and cause adverse reactions such as drug resistance.In recent years,traditional Chinese medicine has certain advantages in the treatment of liver diseases with its holistic approach and differen-tiation of syndromes.Therefore,the research progress on the treatment of cirrhotic portal hypertension with traditional Chinese medicine is being conducted to provide more ideas for clinical diagnosis,treatment and prognosis.
