Effects of Wenshen Xuanbi Decoction(温肾宣痹方)Combined with Ultrasonic Pulsed Radiofrequency on Range of Motion and Inflammatory Factors in Patients with Knee Osteoarthritis
Objective To explore the effects of Wenshen Xuanbi Decoction(温肾宣痹方)combined with ultrasonic pulsed ra-diofrequency on range of motion and inflammatory factors in patients with knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Methods A total of 100 pa-tients with KO A confirmed in the hospital were enrolled between October 2020 and October 2021.According to random grouping method,they were divided into observation group(50 cases,Wenshen Xuanbi Decoction combined with ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency of knee nerve)and control group(50 cases,ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency of knee nerve).All were treated continuously for 4 weeks.Before and after treatment,changes in knee function[Western Ontario and McMaster Uni-versities Osteoarthritis Index(WOMAC)],pain level[visual analogue scale(VAS)],range of motion and serum inflammatory factors[high-sensitivity C-reactive protein(Hs-CRP),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),interleukin-1β(IL-1β),tumor necrosis factor α(TNF-α)]were compared between the two groups.The occurrence of adverse reactions(digestive sys-tem reactions,headache,skin pigmentation)in both groups during treatment was recorded.Result After 4 weeks of treatment,WOMAC and VAS scores in observation group were significantly lower than those in control group,and range of motion(flexion,extension)was significantly higher than that in control group(P＜0.05).After 4 weeks of treatment,levels of Hs-CRP,ESR,IL-1β and TNF-α in both groups were decreased,which were significantly lower in observation group than control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between observation group and control group(P＞0.05).Conclusion The application of Wenshen Xuanbi Decoction combined with ultrasound-guided pulsed radiofrequency of knee nerve can significantly improve pain and knee range of motion in KOA patients,which is beneficial to inhibit inflammatory response and improve the damaged knee function.
