Research Progress on Regulation of Salivary Gland Immune Microenvironment by Traditional Chinese Medicine in Sjogren's Syndrome
Sjogren's syndrome(SS)is a chronic autoimmune disease with clinical manifestations of dry mouth and dry eyes.In severe cases,it will affect the quality of life of patients.At present,there is no cure for SS,and the choice of treatment is very limited.Traditional Chinese medicine has a good effect in the treatment of SS.Prescription for replenishing Qi,nourishing Yin and moistening dryness is commonly used in clinical and experimental research.Its mechanism includes the improvement of hy-poxia,inhibition of chronic inflammation,regulation of aging and so on.Hypoxia,chronic inflammation and aging are the three major characteristics of salivary gland microenvironment.This article reviewed the recent studies on the treatment of salivary glands in patients with SS by traditional Chinese medicine from the point of view of immune microenvironment.
