Gout is a heterogeneous disease caused by purine metabolism disorder and uric acid excretion disorder.Its clinical manifestations are mainly hand and foot joint pain and gouty tophi.It has increasingly become a common metabolic disease threat-ening human health.Treatise on Febrile Diseases is one of the most influential medical works in the history of traditional Chinese medicine.ZHANG Zhongjing,a medical sage,pioneered the syndrome differentiation system of six meridians based on principles,methods,prescriptions and medicines.Based on the method of syndrome differentiation of six meridians of Treatise on Febrile Dis-eases,combining with the different clinical characteristics of gout in Taiyang,Yangming,Shaoyang,Taiyin,Shaoyin and Jueyin,this paper explored the six meridians transmission and changes of gout,explored the classical prescription for gout treatment,and pro-vided a broader idea for clinical guidance of syndrome differentiation and treatment of gout.
