Herpes zoster is an acute herpetic skin disease caused by varicella zoster virus(VZV).According to the different stages of herpes zoster onset,it can be divided into pre eruption,eruption stage and post eruption stage.Based on relevant litera-ture,it can be seen that Western medicine uses oral medication,ultrasound guided nerve block,pulsed radio frequency and other methods.Traditional Chinese medicine uses Chinese medicine,acupuncture and moxibustion,blood letting puncture and cupping to treat herpes zoster.This article reviewed the characteristics,etiology,pathogenesis,treatment methods and research progress of pre eruption,eruption and post eruption by analyzing relevant literature in recent years.
