Functional constipation is a disease characterized by difficulty in defecation,reduced frequency of defecation or in-complete defecation.It is characterized by no obvious organic lesions and does not meet the diagnostic criteria for irritable bowel syndrome.Although functional constipation has no organic lesions,it seriously affects peoples daily life and greatly reduces their quality of life.At present,the etiology of functional constipation is not yet clear,and targeted treatment is not effective.Function-al constipation often occurs with negative depressive emotions.Traditional Chinese medicine focuses on emotional aspects to treat functional constipation effectively.This article elaborated on the research progress of traditional Chinese medicine on functional constipation accompanied by emotional disorders.
