Polycystic ovary syndrome is a gynecological endocrine disorder that is difficult to treat clinically at present.Its pathogenesis is complex,clinical manifestations are highly heterogeneous,and the course of disease is lingering.In recent years,the incidence rate has gradually increased,and it seriously affects the physical and mental health of women of childbearing age.Traditional Chinese medicine therapy has played a disciplinary advantage in the treatment of this disease and has received good therapeutic effects.The combination of acupuncture and medicine,as a comprehensive therapy guided by traditional Chinese medicine theory,has the advantages of high efficiency and safety and significant clinical efficacy.Through searching and sorting out the clinical research literature on the treatment of phlegm-damp type of polycystic ovary syndrome by combination of acu-puncture and medicine in recent five years,this paper summarized the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion and medi-cine in the treatment of this disease,and proposed the progress of clinical research on the treatment of this disease by combination of acupuncture and medicine at the emerging stage as well as some shortcomings.
