Chronic Kidney Disease-Associated Pruritus from the Perspective of'Turbid Toxin Pan-Skin'
Uremic pruritus or chronic kidney disease-associated pruritus(CKD-aP)is the most neglected and underesti-mated symptom in patients with advanced or end-stage renal disease(ESRD),which can greatly reduce the quality of life of patients. The pathogenesis of CKD-aP is still unclear.Hormones, histamine, opioid receptor disorders and microinflammation are the possible causes of the disease. The core pathogenesis of CKD-aP is visceral deficiency, turbid toxin endogenous, itchy skin,of which visceral deficiency endogenous turbid toxin is the causative agent, dampness and stasis obstruction and turbid tox-in skin is the causative symptom, and the nature of the disease should be the evidence of this deficiency and the symptom is the real one. When treating the disease,it is necessary to support the correctness and replenish the deficiency, expel the turbidity and detoxify the toxin,so as to make the qi and blood surplus and the viscera full, and the turbidity and toxin go away and the skin moistening.
