Research Progress of Acupuncture Therapy for Angina Pectoris of Coronary Heart Disease
Coronary heart disease is a common cardiovascular disease caused by coronary atherosclerosis,which causes vas-cular stenosis and occlusion,myocardial ischemia and hypoxia,and presents chest pain,chest tightness and other symptoms.With the changes in dietary patterns and lifestyle,the prevalence of this disease has been increasing yearly and affecting younger popu-lations,severely impacting the quality of life.Modern medicine primarily uses Western drugs to control the condition,but these can have adverse effects.Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)believes that coronary heart disease is related to deficiencies in Qi and blood,as well as blood stasis,and treats it based on the principles of warming Yang,dispersing cold and promoting blood cir-culation to remove blood stasis.This article reviewed recent clinical research progress in the treatment of angina pectoris due to coronary heart disease using acupuncture therapies,including traditional acupuncture,body acupuncture as well as combined ther-apies such as acupuncture with moxibustion,electroacupuncture,Chinese herbal medicine and Western medicine.Acupuncture therapy has shown significant efficacy in increasing coronary blood flow,improving myocardial ischemia and enhancing immunity.Future research should integrate modern medical advancements to deeply explore the mechanisms and synergistic effects of acu-puncture therapy,thereby optimizing treatment strategies and improving clinical efficacy.
