LIU Wansu is the leader of the Four Great Masters of the Jin and Yuan dynasties,pioneering the theory of"inter-nal wind".His treatment of stroke has epoch-making significance.The theory of"Xuanfu"and the theory of"Yang Qi being hot and depressed"are the two main academic ideas of the Liu family.One emphasizes the importance of promoting the circula-tion of Qi throughout the body,while the other emphasizes the importance of promoting the circulation of Qi from both physiologi-cal and pathological perspectives.The main prescriptions for treating stroke include Daqinjiao Decoction(大秦艽汤);Xiaoxum-ing Decoction(小续命汤);Sanhua Decoction(三化汤),etc.,all of which contain a large amount of wind medicine and have good clinical effects.This article aims to explore in depth the effect of wind medicine on stroke based on the theory of Liu's Xuan-fu and the theory of Yang Qi and Qi Qi stagnation.
