Clinical Efficacy of Compound Yuxingcao Mixture in Treating Sore Throat Caused by Exogenous Wind-Heat
Objective The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of compound yuxingcao mixture in the treatment of sore throat caused by acute pharyngitis.Methods From December 2021 to March 2022,a total of 48 patients with throat swelling and pain of exogenous wind-heat syndrome who were admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine were selected.The patients were divided into the experimental group and the control group,and the patients were randomly assigned according to the ratio of 2:1.The experimental group was given compound yuxingcao mixture,and the control group was given compound compound yuxingcao mixture mimics.Both groups were treated for 7 days.The disappearance rate of pharyngodynia,the disappearance time of pharyngodynia,TCM syndrome scores before and after treatment,course of treatment and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results After 3 days of treatment,the disappearance rate of sore throat in the experimental group(6.25％)was higher than that in the control group(0％)(P＞0.05).The difference between the two groups was 9.38％(95CI:8.54％,10.22％).After 5 days of treatment,the disappearance rate of sore throat in the experimental group(43.75％)was significantly higher than that in the control group(6.67％)(P＜0.05).The median disappearance time of sore throat in the experimental group(137.67)h was shorter than that in the control group(167)h(P＜0.05).After 3 and 5 days of treatment,the total TCM syndrome scores of the experimental group were(4.48±2.06)and(0.91±1.08),and the control group were(6.60±1.96)and(4.00±2.76),respectively.The total TCM syndrome scores of the experimental group were significantly lower than those of the control group(P＜0.01).The treatment course of the experi-mental group was 4.72±1.37 days,which was shorter than 5.67±0.62 days of the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion Compound yuxingcao mixture can promote the recovery of acute pharyngitis with exogenous wind-heat syndrome,shorten the disappearance time of pharyngitis and the course of treatment,and has no obvious adverse reactions.
