Xuanbai Chengqi Decoction(宣 白承气汤)was created in WU Jutong's"Arguement of Febrile Diseases",which was used to treat the syndrome of"Yangming Febrile diseases,constipation after purgation"accompanied by lung qi not descend-ing.It is widely used by modern TCM doctors for respiratory diseases such as pneumonia and COPD according to the characteris-tics of their prescriptions.In this paper,the formulation basis and the range of syndrome and treatment of this decoction were ana-lyzed by tracing to its source,and compared to the modern clinical indications.Sorting out and concluding the relevant modern re-search results,analyzing its pharmacological mechanism,and further looking forward to its clinical application prospect.
